  1. Do As Afterschool
    Presenter : Ryan & Yaz

    In this presentation, we are going to compare regular English class with "afterschool" First of all, we will discuss the features of regular English class and "afterschool" English class in terms of communication. Secondly, on the basis of the features, we are going to suggest the alternative role of "afterschool" English class. Through this presentation, pre-service and in-service English teachers can have some tips regarding compensating for the lack of regular English class with the features of "afterschool" English class.

  2. Fun and Interesting Activities For Elementary Students

    Learning English can be very stressful for elementary students who are learning English as their foriegn language in schools. Therefore it is crucial for teachers to provide and plan activities which are fun and interesting.
    In this session, I will review various activities, which might lower students' anxiety level while they learn English and help them to read, write, listen and speaking in target language.
    Through my presentation, English teachers will be able to get various tips about effective activities in teaching.

  3. Teaching Elementary English Using English Storybooks
    Presenter : kim hee kyung(Abigail)

    English storybooks became a tool to help students understand the thought and the lifestyles of people in other cultures, and also improve actual listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The presenter will suggest some selection standards for English storybooks and guidelines in using English storybooks in regular elementary English class. The presenter will end by providing a teaching model for maximizing the effectiveness of teaching English storybooks.

  4. Create Creativity In Teaching Language

    In this session, I present about creative teaching which is my ultimate goal of education.

    Following this topic, it will be disccused that how creativity affects on learning experiences of pre-schoolers.

    The way to imply creativity into the class will be suggested with some methods as well.

    Through this presentation, it would be grateful if the audiences acquire one aspect of the teaching informations and have opportunity to consider their own teaching philosophies.

    Getting a high score on TEPS(Test of English Proficiency developed by Seoul university) is highly required to enter special purpose highschool for middleschool students in South Korea. In this session, the presenter will show you how Kenny usually teaches in his class with authentic reading/vocabulary material. The presenter will end his presentation by presenting good examples of affective teaching.

  6. Online Book-Making Activity
    Presenter : Hye Na
    The presentation will be about the improvement of reading and writing ability through online book-making activity. First, the presenter will talk about the detailed process of online book-making activity. Next, the presenter will introduce the effects of online book-making activity in terms of second language literacy and ICT literacy. The presentation will provide an insight into one of the effective means of increasing students' second language literacy. The presentation will end up with implications to bring the online book-making activity into classes.

  8. Current goverment that emphasizes the importance of English suggests various policies to give effective English education to students. For example, goverment tries to increase the number of English class and native English speaking teachers in public school in these days.
    One of the policies that goverment tried to do is Immersion English. In this presentation, we'll review the meaning of the Immersion English class and the positive and negative effects of it.
    Through our presentation, you'll know about positive and negative effects of Immersion English class and you can think of it in critical view.

  9. More than 80% of English Language Teaching(ELT) professionals worldwide are non-native English speaking teachers(NNESTs) and in Korean most of English teachers are NNESTs.

    So, in this session, the presenter will review differences in teaching behavior between NESTs and NNESTs, and consider handicaps and benefits of NNESTs, on a research basis as well as from experiences.

    In closing, the presenter will suggest some tips about how to be an ideal teacher as NNESTs.

  10. Considering Multiple Intelligences in English Language Teaching

    Recent approaches in elementary English language teaching methods include the theory of multiple intelligences suggested by Howard Gardner. In this session, the presenter will review 8 intelligences and how they can be considered in teaching English. This presentation will make you understand the effectiveness of considering multiple intelligences in English language teaching and get some good examples of it.

  12. Fun in Class!
    Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) is more effective to teach English because it is focused on student interaction. Student interaction makes for active learning, not passive learning. Communicative Language Teaching(CLT) emphasizes communication skills, fluency over accuracy.
    In this session, I will show you some advantages of Communicative Language Teaching and provide activities for Communicative Language Teaching such as role play, games, pair work and interviews.
    The audience will be aware of Communicative Language Learning more clearly and learn how to teach English by Communicative Language Teaching.

  15. Reading and writing are important parts in teaching English. Nevertheless of the importance, teaching of reading and writing is  insufficiency in English class of public elementary school.
    In this session, the presenter will suggest how to teach reading and writing in English class with considering insufficiency of time and activity for the 5th grade students.
    The presenter will provide a program of reading and writing and discuss about how teachers can apply it in their English class.

The concept of raising bilingual children is both attractive and possible for more and more families. The presentation will summarize the present state of CALL and discuss the main issue of CALL instruction in Korean.     The presentation is about English Newspapers in Education (ENIE) that is focusing on the activities for English literacy. The target learners of this method are 2nd graders in high school who are in the advanced level. The presenters will show the rationale and the procedure of ENIE with an example. The presenters will end their presentation with the benefits of ENIE. (63 words)

    Lastly, we will show benefits of ENIE in this presentation.
